University Malaya Centre of Addiction Sciences (UMCAS) is a newly formed center of research under the Health and Translational Medicine (HTM) Cluster of University Malaya. We are a group of clinicians of various disciplines including medicine, dentistry and clinical psychology. However we have collaborators in other disciplines like pharmacology, science and the humanities. We also collaborate with other research centres within UM like CeRiA and outside the university eg. INFORRM (USM), National Anti-Drug Agency (NADA).
This research center was established as the first addiction institute in Malaysia and together with Methadone research clinic become a preferred one-stop centre of excellence for training, research and treatment of addiction problems
1.To promote research interest and publications in addiction fields.
2.To generate training program for undergraduate and post graduate level in addiction fields.
3.To provide addiction treatment services for various addiction disorders.
4.To offer consultation services for various agencies and the community.
