It is with much sorrow and sadness that MPA wish to inform that Pn Halijah, wife of Prof. Hussain Habil, former President of MPA, passed away last night, 5th December 2010. Gene therapy in mice appears to be able to "correct" a gene defect strongly linked to depression in people. Abnormal behaviour in mice lacking a gene in a specific brain region was reversed after injections of a modified virus.
