Dear All,
I write to bring to your attention one of the College prizes specifically aimed at international trainees. As you will see from the regulations the prize allows senior trainees to spend 2-4 weeks in the UK or Ireland to further their study, research or clinical training. Please note that the closing date for this fellowship is the end of February 2008. Could I therefore ask you to bring this to the attention of your trainees and encourage them to apply. Many thanks.

The Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology invites 8 young psychiatrists from Asia to its 104th annual meeting to be held between May 29 and 31, 2008 in Tokyo. The registration fee will be waived and a partial reimbursement of JPY 100,000 for air fare and accommodation will be provided. The participants are expected to make a presentation at a session on Post-graduate training, Mental Health Act in the country, how restraint and seclusion is handled in the treatment.

Clinical complexity is emerging as a pointed indicator of the conceptual and empirical richness of psychiatry and general medicine and of the intricate challenges faced by our field. This complexity needs to be appraised, understood and formulated in attention to its various aspects and levels in order to inform adequately the development of crucial clinical tools such as an effective diagnostic model.
